BE ON TIME – Shows eagerness for the job. If you are late this will ruin your chance of being selected. If you are running late, always call us on 0121 702 1408 and we will contact the client for you.
DRESS SMARTLY – Men should always wear a suit, shirt and tie with ideally black shoes and socks, if this isn't possible then freshly pressed trousers, shirt and tie is the next best thing! Always wear neutral colours. Ladies – wear a suit or smart skirt or trousers with a blouse. Best not to wear revealing clothing whilst at interview. FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT.
EYE CONTACT – This shows confidence, also that you are interested in what the interviewer has to say.
PREPARE YOUR QUESTIONS – Always do research on the company, it shows you are interested, but above all it will arm you with answers to the interviewer’s questions. It will make you more confident if fully prepared. Also try and ask relevant well researched questions at the end of the interview, (even if you can only think of one or two), as again this shows an interest and proves that you have done your research. Do not ask salary details on the first interview, always cover this on second interview or through Able Personnel.
SELL YOURSELF – Be positive of your chances of getting the job, act as though you are the favourite, but NEVER BE AROGANT!!
NO CHEWING GUM – It looks unprofessional to chew gum whilst at interview.
ALWAYS CALL ABLE PERSONNEL AFTER YOUR INTERVIEW – Call us straight after your interview with your feedback, as people that do not can be difficult for us to get hold of. This is important because most clients call us within one to four hours after interviewing a candidate and ask us if you have been in touch with your feedback, if you have not tried to contact us at all that day it can look to the client that you may not be interested in the position, even if you are the favourite because the client will wonder if you are eager.
